Sail Ionian is a friendly, family owned and run yacht charter company. Our second yacht charter base in now in operation in the Caribbean. We are operating from the new Port Louis Marina in Grenada, an ideal starting point for exploring the Grenadines, including the islands of Bequai, Union, Canouan, Mustique, St Vincent, Tobago Quays and Carriacou.

BAREBOAT YACHT CHARTER - Explore the Grenadines at your own pace. Enjoy snorkelling with turtles, fresh lobster barebeques and much more! We offer route advice, weather daily and any support where needed. For less experienced sailors we can provide a skipper to start your holiday. Fully equipped and very well maintained yacht with everything you would ever need on board during your holiday.

LEARN TO SAIL - We welcome all levels of experience and will plan your sailing trip to suit your holiday ambitions and crew. Learn as little or as much as you like. We can offer practice with navigation, mile building, night sailing, mooring techniques and all levels of sailing skills during your holiday. Also ideal for those looking for further experience outside of flotilla or Ionian sailing as the skipper can be on board in the background and offer advise where needed.

SKIPPERED CHARTER - New to sailing or fancy relaxing and having a stress free holiday? Our skippered charters are planned to suit you. Various starting destinations available. Also ideal for special occasions and honeymoons. We can organise everything for you (including the champagne on arrival!).

CABIN CHARTER - New for 2011. Available to anyone wanting to explore the Grenadines in the company of others. Charter a cabin on one of our larger yachts with a skipper.

Our Yachts - What is Included?

Our yachts are coded for Ocean crossings and are equipped to a much higher standard than most other charter yachts - including watermaker.

Food and drink welcome pack including bottle of rum, juice, very large fruit bowl, water bottles, coffee and tea, milk, Bag of Ice, pepper sauce, salt, herbs and spices etc etc.

Clean Sheets and 2 yacht towels/person.

All cleaning materials, bin bags, fairy liquid etc etc for a weeks charter so no shopping required on arrival

Rib and Outboard Engine - full of fuel on arrival

Masks and Snorkels x 8, Some Flippers (not all sizes though!)

Daily weather Information sent by text

Free half day tuition if required/handover of yacht and assistance with route planning.

Fully equipped yacht with gas and spare, barbeque and gas, full diesel tanks, full water tanks (to be filled on return to our base).

All important Safety Equipment including Solas Approved Automatic Lifejackets, DanBuoy, Epirb, Liferaft, Flares, Grab Bag, Emergency Tiller, handheld VHF and cabin VHF.

Everything else you would need on board (from chart plotters, guide books, bimini and boom cover, to pegs, bin bags, spare batteries, lantern for cockpit, etc etc). Our yachts are equipped so you have all you need - if something is missing we will try our best to find it for you.

Our aim is always to provide the highest standard of sailing holiday possible to all of our clients, both new and returning. This is achieved by maintaining constant high levels of yacht maintenance, cleaning and staff training. We offer 24 hour support.

All our yachts are fully equipped and well maintained with everything you would expect to be on board for your holiday. Prices include dinghy, outboard, linen, towels, welcome pack with food/drinks, masks and snorkels, fishing kit etc.

Caribbean Prices

CHARTER PRICES FROM Grenada.

Add 100 US to your yacht charter price for other starting locations. Charters available from Union Island, Carriacou, Bequai and St Vincent.

Prices are based on a minimum six day seven night charter. Other durations available and other starting destinations also available. One way charters available to save returning to the same base after your weeks sailing.

Flights to Grenada from the U.K. from around £450 return (Wednesday), with Golden Caribbean Monarch airlines flights. BA and Virgin fly on other weekdays for those looking for 10 day charters or with specific dates for time off.

Flights
Flights are available from the UK to Grenada from around £470 return - Golden Caribbean - Virgin - British Airways. We can help with all your travel arrangements.
Airport Transfers Airport transfers are at cost around US $20
We reserve the right to charge for excess cleaning.
All USD amounts are payable in cash unless agreed otherwise, prior to the start of your holiday
Charters start after 4:00pm and finish at 9:00am unless previously arranged otherwise. A one week charter is 7 nights 6 days sailing. Other durations are also available. We also operate an early check out so you can sail from 9am on the first day!!
Prices are shown per week. Other durations are available by request.

All our yachts are new in the past 5 years.

We have limited availability for 2011 and the first part of the year in 2012 in Grenada and the Grenadines. If we do not have availability for a particular date we will do our best to find you the yacht you are looking for and ensure it is equipped with all our charter extras.

Special conditions

As demand is fairly high (especially for Christmas and Antigua weeks) we suggest bookings are made at the earliest possible dates. We take a deposit of 25% on all bookings. Discounts available for early booking, returning clients and 2 week or more bookings.

Provisioning

We offer a full provisioning service as well as part provisioning or whatver you are looking for. We have all sorts of choices and we can arrange everything to meet your requests. Please let us know min 2 weeks before travelling. Provisioning is usually charged at cost plus small handling fee.

Skipper

You are expected to feed and water the skipper although they should be able to show you some excellent places to eat, bbqs and probably catch a few fish to supplement your provisions!

One Way Charters

Start and finish your charter in a different location enabling you to make the most of the islands and see even more!. One Way Charters - start on one island and finish on a different island! An extra charge is applied.

Accommodation Ashore

We have a collection of fantastic villas and hotels which we can recommend on the islands. All of them we have visited personally and can vouch for the special care and attention given to all the guests.

EXCLUSIONS:

Clearance Fees - This are extra as with all sailing in the Caribbean - to sail St Vincent and the Grenadines: $35 EC/person for a 1- 2 week period. To Cruise Carriacou and Grenada $50EC/yacht is required. If you choose to sail out and back into either area the payment must be repeated. There may also be extra fees depending on the time of year and time day.

Mooring Fees - Anchoring is free is almost all locations except there is a Cruising Permit Fee in Tobago Cays which costs 10EC/person/day. Mooring buoys/quay moorings vary from $10US - $25US/night. Moorings on Mustique Island 80US for up to 3 days stay.

Fuel - Fuel is readily available in many locations.
