With Sail Ionian in Greece sailing holidays can be taken as a bareboat charter, assisted sailing or skippered yacht charter.

For those of you interested in Greece sailing holidays but without the experience to skipper your own yacht, skippered yacht charter could be the ideal solution for you.

On a skippered yacht charter you plan your route with our skipper, and you can either leave the skipper to do all of the sailing and relax enjoying the scenery, or you can take part, learn as you travel around the Ionian.

Your Greek sailing holidays will be relaxing as we skipper the yacht, which allows you the freedom to spend your time lying in the sun, or sail all day whatever you wish to do. 

Your route is not fixed for your Greek sailing holiday and you are free to change the plans on a day to day basis.  You may choose to visit the Southern Ionian and the islands of: Skorpios, Meganissi, Kalamos, Kastos, The Dragoneras, Ithaca, Kefallonia or the mainland harbours of Paleros, Mitikas or Astakos.  The Southern Ionian region has many Islands that are close together resulting in flat seas – which is ideal for novices and the less experienced – however with your skippered yacht charter you don’t need to worry about that. Your skipper will also be pleased to take you round the Northern Ionian time permitting, where you may travel as far as Corfu.

The nights spent on your Greek sailing holiday are usually completely calm.  You will sleep peacefully.  When you moor for the night you can enjoy the lush scenery, sites of historic interest, and local tavernas where you can sample the delightful local food.

Sail Ionian is a small, friendly, family owned and run yacht charter company based on the island of Lefkas in Greece, ideally located for sailing holidays exploring the Southern and Northern Ionian.

We specialise in Bareboat Yacht Charter, Assisted Sailing and RYA Sailing Courses. For the less experienced sailors, we are pleased to skipper your yacht for part or all of your sailing holiday whilst you gain confidence.

Our aim is to provide the highest standard of sailing holiday possible to all of our clients, both new and returning. This is achieved by maintaining constant high levels of yacht maintenance, cleaning and staff training. All our charter yachts have completed no more than four seasons of charter, with NEW yachts being added each year. All yachts from 36 foot upwards are teak decked and fully equiped. In the unlikely event of you needing support, backup is provided by a large rib which can reach anywhere in the Southern Ionion in a short space of time.
