Sail Ionian is a small, friendly, family owned and run yacht charter company based on the island of Lefkas in Greece, ideally located for sailing holidays exploring the Southern and Northern Ionian. We specialise in BAREBOAT YACHT CHARTER, SKIPPERED CHARTER, INFORMAL FLOTILLAS, ASSISTED SAILING, and RYA SAILING COURSES. For the less experienced sailors, we are pleased to skipper your yacht for part or all of your sailing holiday whilst you gain confidence. Our aim is to provide the highest standard of sailing holiday possible to all of our clients, both new and returning. This is achieved by maintaining constant high levels of yacht maintenance, cleaning and staff training. Our Bavaria yachts have completed no more than five seasons of charter, with 4 NEW yachts being added for 2010. All yachts from 35 foot upwards are teak decked and fully equipped. In the unlikely event of you needing support, backup is provided by a large rib "Rodney" which can reach anywhere in the Southern Ionian in a short space of time. See our prices. |

New to sailing on yachts? a) Take a small yacht and follow our assisted sailing idea where the skipper is with you during the day for a flexible number of days and doesnt sleep on board. b) Take a formal 5 day RYA course at the start of your holiday before sailing yourselves without the skipper or c)Take a skippered charter when you have a skipper all week on board and do as much learning/relaxing as you wish.

Assisted Sailing is one of the most popular options for less experienced or nervous sailors who want to enjoy the delights of the Ionian Islands without the need to “check in” and “check out” with a group of other yachts on a flotilla every day. The skipper is with you on an open ended basis and leaves the boat each evening after ensuring you are moored safely in a different port each night. The assisted route is also available to those who have never sailed before, with one of our smaller yachts. We offer a unique service and have had a great deal of success in training people to sail in a short space of time, without sacrificing any safety aspects. |

Bareboat Yacht Charter is available for both experienced sailors and newly qualified. We provide a level of support to suit experience, which includes our free stern too mooring clinic on a Monday morning. This tends to be popular with many guests, as a refresher or for those new to the area, to practice in friendly company and pick up any tricks of the trade. We are also available to help you with mooring on Monday evening in Sivota - there are no additional charges for this service. Bareboaters also receive weather texts each morning and in the unlikely event of any support being needed, we have an excellent large support rib and 24 hour emergency telephone number to call. |

Informal Flotilla- we don't offer a normal flotilla but you can join a group of yachts following a set route who meet up each night so you have a friendly face to help find you a mooring space (and assist if you have difficulties). You will also be able be able to gain valuable route knowledge on a daily basis although will not have to attend group briefings and large group meals. This may suit the less experienced, those having done a coulpe of assisted days, those with children or those who wish to stay out sailing later in the evening. |

Our RYA Sea School offers courses for those looking for a formal qualification. Our RYA centre provides Start Yachting, Competent Crew, Day Skipper (non tidal), Coastal Skipper (non tidal) and Yachtmaster Preparation. Courses are available for both individuals, couples, families and groups of friends. The skipper will be on board for the 5 day course, leaving you the rest of the yacht charter to sail yourselves! If you are looking for a day or two in a rib we also run RYA Level 1 and 2 powerboat training. |

Skippered Charter: If new to sailing or just looking for a relaxing stress free holiday, why not have a fully skippered week, where you can do as much or as little sailing as you like. Our larger yachts such as the Bavaria 46's provide generous accommodation for up to 6 guests and a cabin for a skipper. We will help plan the perfect route around the Greek Islands for that unforgettable sailing holiday. Skippered Charter is available on various yachts from Bavaria 30 - our 75 foot Ketch. |

Mile Building and Distance Cruising. Sail from Gibraltar to Greece accross the med in June 2010. From October 2010 our yachts sail from Greece through Sardinia, onto Gibraltar and then to the Canaries. Here they will join the ARC Atlantic Rally for Cruisers and race across the Atlantic to the Caribbean! These trips are outside our operating area for our RYA sea School. |
