The Sail Ionian base is in Vliho village on the island of Lefkas. Lefkas is linked by a causeway to the mainland and our base is about 30 minutes from Preveza Airport, 40 euros for 4 people sharing a taxi. A taxi will be arranged to meet you at the airport to transfer you to our base.

A further option is to fly to Athens and then take a local flight to Preveza, bus, taxi, or car to Lefkas, this can sometimes be more cost effective. There is a new bridge now open and this journey time from Athens to Preveza is around 5 hours.

It is also possible to fly to Corfu and then travel by ferry to the mainland and then by car, taxi, or bus to Lefkas, last time we went this way it took us about four hours by ferry and car. A sea plane also operates from Corfu to Levkas Town.

Taxi Transfer from Preveza: €40

Easyjet, British airways, and Olympic fly to Athens. If there are three or four of you it is often cheaper to fly with Easy Jet and then get a taxi to Lefkas (Journey time approx 5 hours), this has added advantages of flexibility, and will also let you visit other parts of Greece.

The connecting flights from Athens to Preveza are run by Olympic air lines, and we expect will be around €130.00 (£75.00) return during 2003, and they should run everyday during the summer.

Fly into Corfu and you have a short journey to the port area where you can catch one of the frequent ferries to Igoumenitsa on the Greek mainland from here you can get a taxi, or car to Lefkas. (A taxi may be the best bet as we paid an extra premium on the hire charge of €40.00 for the privilege of leaving a car at the ferry port). It is also possible and very cheap to use a bus for the journey. Journey time in a Taxi or car around 2 hours from Igoumenitsa to Lefkas. A Sea plane also runs from Corfu to Levkas; times vary throughout the season however so check with us before booking.
