What’s new for 2019

A short and sweet update for the 2019 season…

Direct flights to Preveza are starting early in 2019, EasyJet are flying from Sunday 31st March which is fantastic news. See our Travel Summary page here – we’ve put together a flight timetable for the direct flights from the UK and other European countries to Preveza.

Our season therefore at Sail Ionian will start from Sunday 7th April which is perfect for Easter sailing. Greek Easter falls a week later on 28th April and is not to be missed, this celebration is bigger here than Christmas! Come and explore the island of Lefkada and the surrounding Ionian islands at what I consider the BEST time of the year. You can see live availability and pricing here.

We are offering 10 days for the price of 7 on all charters throughout April until Sunday 12th May and group RYA training from 7th April from £500 pp. Private courses for 2 from £1600 throughout April & May. Early season charters & RYA training are fantastic. The weather is glorious, the area peaceful with that ‘opening-up’ vibe and the winds steady. Keep an eye on our special offers page here – we are offering 10% off April charters!

For bareboat charters, we offer Wednesday and Sunday starts all season giving you the option of a 10 day holiday. This matches in perfectly with Wednesday & Sunday flights from the UK – London Gatwick, Heathrow & Manchester all fly midweek. Make the most of cheaper midweek flights! It also means that you get to see the most popular harbours of Kioni, Kastos & Fiscardo for example over the weekend. This is when they are at their quietest whilst the majority of the sailing companies are on changeover.

Our informal flotilla runs 26th May over May half term and then weekly from 30th June until 1st September and again from 20th October, again over half term to accommodate both families and couples alike. The informal flotilla involves mooring assistance each evening, route planning, Mediterranean mooring practice. The route is decided upon talking to all of the guests we have booked on the flotilla. By doing this we can be very flexible. It’s an ideal way to transition between being herded round on a flotilla and a more relaxed bareboat holiday.

New boats for 2019… more to come on this VERY SOON 😉 ! We have a few boats leaving the fleet for 2019. Some will be under our guardianage scheme, others are being sold whilst one or two are being kept privately. If you’d be interested in buying one of Sail Ionian’s fastidiously maintained ex-fleet yachts, take a look here at our brokerage page. Or maybe you are looking for an investment? Find out more about the options of buying a new yacht and chartering it through Sail Ionian in our Yacht Partnership Scheme.
