NEW YACHT – Bavaria C42 Freedom

We welcome a Bavaria C42 to our 2021 fleet!

Having already the luxury of a Bavaria C45, Bavaria C50 and Bavaria C57 on the fleet, it is with great pleasure that we introduce the first of two Bavaria C42s joining the fleet for 2021 – welcome Freedom!

The name Freedom is rather apt at the moment. It’s something that we are all looking forward to once these lockdowns are over and things are under control. And it’s EXACTLY what a yacht charter holiday offers you – the possibility to go where you want, when you want, without (many) restrictions.

Definition of Freedom: the opportunity to pursue happiness without constraint

Like our other 2 new yachts, Dolce Vita & Calista, Freedom will be brand new for 2021 so is currently in the factory being built. All being well with the current ‘situation‘, Freedom will be the first of the new yachts to be commissioned for next year. The yachts are built in Bavaria, Germany and then transported over land to basically the nearest bit of sea in our direction. This happens to be the port of Izola in Slovenia. Hopefully engineers Chris & Matt will be heading up to Izola early 2021 to finish off the partially completed yacht. This includes:

  • Stepping the mast
  • Rigging & Sails
  • Electrics
  • Skippering jobs – organising cockpit lockers, anchor chain markers, chart tables, safety equipment
  • Domestic inventory

And lots more…! Usually in a short space of time too so it’s long days in the boat yard in order to get everything ready before the delivery down. The delivery on Freedom will be completed by her very competent and experienced owners who have done the trip down before. The weather early in the year can be wild and cold so it’s not for the faint hearted or those looking for a pleasant cruise down the Croatian coastline…

The trip usually takes around a week (depending on the weather and route) including a night or so in Corfu to arrange paperwork for registering the yacht officially in Greece.

Freedom’s spec is of course enviable – she offers 3 large double cabins, 2 roomy heads, a saloon table conversion for an extra double berth if needed. The cabins are fitted with fans for comfort at night on those hot summer evenings. The C series of yachts are beamy so there’s an abundance of light and space down below. Up on deck, her spacious cockpit and twin helms allow for easy sailing with a couple of crew, or several. The self-taking genoa and in-mast furling main are easy and convenient. Her teak decks add that extra luxury feeling too! When at anchor, drop down the bathing platform for even more space, or lounge under the shade of the bimini in the cockpit.

*Photos are from stock at the moment but we’ll update these once she arrives safely in Vliho next Spring.

Freedom is available for charter from mid April onwards, you can view live Pricing & Availability on our website here – the new yachts are always popular so don’t miss out. She can be chartered bareboat if you hold the relevant qualifications, or she is roomy enough for Skippered Charters too. If you are qualified but not used to maneuvering a yacht this wide, then one of our skippers will happily join you for an hour or so (or a day of Assisted Sailing if needed) to practice Mediterranean mooring, and anything else you feel needs refreshing.
