Suggested Route - Best of the Ionian Discover the classic highlights of the area with this 'Best of the Ionian' suggested route Sunday night - Little Vathi, Meganisi Just an hour away, Little Vathi is a pretty fishing village offering a good choice of tavernas and bars. Often on a Sunday evening there is town quay space! On route over there - watch out for the Heromiti Shoal off Scorpios island, one of the only major hazards in the Ionian... Monday night - Sivota, Lefkada A natural harbour, Sivota offers good protection in most weather, as well as being a pretty port with a lot of life in the way of tavernas, shops and bars. Tuesday night - Fiscardo, Kefalonia The hustle and bustle of Fiscardo may not be for everyone but the pastel coloured Venetian buildings, good ice cream shop and amazing restaurants make this one of our favourite places to head. Longline outside Panorama bar for your own private swimming area and watch the 'harbour cinema' as others come and go in their attempt to find a good space... Wednesday night - Kioni, Ithaca Possibly the most beautiful harbour in the whole of the Ionian. Surrounded by steep dramatic cliff faces, this small fishing village is stunning and well worth a visit. It can get very windy in the afternoon and with limited quay space you are likely to be long lined against the rocks - take care in the cross wind. Thursday night - Kastos The quaint island of Kastos located to the east of the very popular Kalamos is a nice quiet alternative to anywhere else. The bays on the way in are bright turquoise so take a dip before heading into harbour. You may be lucky and find space on the main quay though it is shallow towards the restaurants, otherwise longline outside the harbour. Friday night - Palairos, Mainland Palairos has a chilled out hippy vibe with some nice beach bars perfect for watching the sun go down over Lefkas, and some really good tavernas too. Anchor off the beach or north of the harbour for a short dinghy ride ashore. Saturday night - Geni, Lefkada Anchoring off Geni opposite our base in Vliho is a lovely way to end your sailing holiday. There are lots of nice restaurants right on the waterfront and it is so quiet at night. Good holding makes for a peaceful night on board.
