The tourist season is starting soon


The Greek Government have officially announced that the Greek tourism season will start on 15 May. This follows a 6 month hard lockdown across Greece in anticipation of another safe & successful season.

Greece was also recently awarded a top international distinction for their safe opening of tourism in the pandemic. The “Global Champion Award for Covid-19 Crisis Management” was received by Tourism Minister Haris Theoharis.

So can I travel to Greece?

As far as the Greek authorities are concerned, tourists from a number of countries including EU countries, UK, USA, UAE, Israel, Australia, New Zealand to name a few, will be welcomed to Greece.

The UK authorities are yet to announce their restrictions, current restrictions mean it is illegal to travel abroad from the UK for holidays. This is currently in place up until 17th May. We are eagerly awaiting an update.

There are currently 9 airports open – Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Corfu, Rhodes, Kos, Chania, Mykonos & Santorini. More airports will open, including Preveza/Aktio, once the tourism season gets underway.

If I can legally travel from my country, what do I have to do to enter Greece?

There are strict but simple protocols in place in order to enter Greece. Visit this website here for the official guidance. You must have completed and submitted the Greek PLF form, as well as holding either a negative PCR test or a vaccination certificate.

Are there local regulations to follow in Greece?

Yes, you must follow the same regulations that are in place for Greece’s citizens and residents. At the moment that includes wearing a face mask in all indoor and public outdoor areas, as well as respecting social distancing measures in place.

Do you have the vaccine in Greece?

Yes, we have the Pfizer, Astrazeneca, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccine being rolled out here in Greece. Many of our staff have already had their first dose and have their second dose scheduled.

By June 30, every adult resident in Greece who wants to be inoculated against covid-19 will be able to do so. Read the article here.

What is the availability looking like?

We have availability in June, July & August but don’t miss out as many boats and weeks are now fully booked. We have flights available too from London Heathrow to Preveza.

What about my return to my home country? What do I have to do?

You need to consult your home country’s Government website for official guidance on the steps you need to take prior to returning home. It is likely you’ll need to complete and submit a PLF as well as having a negative PCR test. There are test centers on Lefkada and we are currently talking to centers on other islands to see how logistically it can work. We will update this page once we know more.
