New Bavaria Cruiser 46

The Bavaria Cruiser 46 is a spacious and highly capable cruising yacht, combining excellent sailing performance with an exceptional amount of accommodation for a yacht of this size. With a 4.35m beam, generous cockpit and large bathing platform, she is particularly well suited to Mediterranean cruising, providing plenty of space for family and friends both underway and at anchor. Bavaria describes the Cruiser 46 as one of its best-selling models, and the design was named European Yacht of the Year 2015.

One of the Cruiser 46's standout features is her flexible forward bulkhead system. In the three-cabin configuration the forward area provides an impressive owner's cabin, but this can be divided to create two separate forward cabins, converting the yacht into a practical four-cabin layout. This gives an owner the benefit of a large private suite when desired while retaining the flexibility to provide additional accommodation for family, friends or charter guests.

Above deck, the Cruiser 46 offers a large, sociable cockpit with twin helm stations and excellent access around the yacht. Twin rudders provide good control and handling under sail, while the substantial bathing platform creates an ideal area for swimming and relaxing when anchored in the Greek islands. Below deck, the wide beam produces a bright and remarkably spacious saloon, generous galley and comfortable accommodation with the volume and storage needed for extended cruising.

The result is a yacht that works particularly well for the Sail Ionian Yacht Partnership: rewarding and manageable to sail, spacious enough for extended owner use, and with the accommodation and comfort that make a 46-foot yacht attractive within the Mediterranean charter market.

Commissioning and Delivery

Your new Bavaria Cruiser 46 is delivered by road from the Bavaria Yachts factory to Slovenia, where it undergoes full commissioning prior to launch. This includes preparation of the yacht, stepping and rigging the mast, installation and checking of equipment, and completion of the necessary pre-launch work.

Once commissioned and launched, the yacht is sailed from Slovenia to our base in Lefkas, Greece. Our commissioning and delivery allowance includes provision for an experienced Sail Ionian skipper to assist with the delivery passage, helping ensure the yacht arrives in Lefkas ready for final preparation.

Owners are welcome to take part in the delivery passage, providing an excellent opportunity to become familiar with their new Cruiser 46 before she begins operation in Greece.

Coding and Licences

For a Bavaria Cruiser 46 to operate commercially within our charter fleet in Greece, the yacht must be correctly owned, registered and documented and comply with the applicable Greek maritime, safety and commercial requirements.

For yachts entering the Sail Ionian Yacht Partnership, we arrange the establishment of the owner's Greek yacht-owning company and administer the company on the owner's behalf. We then manage the yacht's registration, commercial charter documentation, radio licensing, safety and seaworthiness certification and the associated registrations and administrative procedures required before the yacht can commence charter operations.

We also arrange the associated company administration and bank account setup, making what can otherwise be a complicated process straightforward for the new owner.

Our experienced team coordinates the various authorities, documentation and inspections so that by the time the Cruiser 46 is ready to enter the Sail Ionian fleet, the yacht and its owning company are properly established for commercial operation in Greece.

Why Choose the Bavaria Cruiser 46?

Exceptional space for a 46-foot yacht
The Cruiser 46 is particularly impressive for the amount of usable space it provides both above and below deck. With an overall length of 13.90m and a substantial 4.35m beam, there is room for a genuinely spacious cockpit, generous accommodation and excellent living areas without moving into a much larger yacht.

A proven and highly successful Bavaria model
The Cruiser 46 has been one of Bavaria Yachts' best-selling sailing yachts and was recognised as European Yacht of the Year. It combines the practical qualities expected from a successful cruising yacht with the comfort and flexibility required for extended Mediterranean sailing.

Excellent Mediterranean cockpit and bathing platform
A wide cockpit provides plenty of room for family and guests while maintaining good movement around the yacht. At anchor, the large lowering bathing platform creates an excellent connection with the water — particularly valuable when cruising the Greek islands.

Twin rudders and rewarding sailing performance
The Cruiser 46 isn't simply about accommodation. Bavaria designed the yacht to combine performance with secure handling, including twin rudders and a substantial sail plan. This makes her a capable cruising yacht as well as a comfortable platform for spending extended periods aboard.

Flexible three or four cabin layout
One of the Bavaria Cruiser 46’s particularly clever features is its flexible forward-cabin arrangement. A movable bulkhead allows the forward accommodation to be configured either as one large owner's cabin or as two separate double cabins, giving the yacht unusual flexibility. This allows the same yacht to work extremely well for private owner use, when a spacious forward suite may be preferred, and for charter or larger groups when four separate cabins are more useful. Bavaria offers the Cruiser 46 in both three- and four-cabin configurations.

Bright, comfortable accommodation
Large amounts of natural light, generous headroom and Bavaria's emphasis on usable interior space give the Cruiser 46 a particularly comfortable feel below deck. Saloon headroom is approximately 2.05m, adding to the sense of volume.

A yacht that works particularly well in Greece
The combination of a large cockpit, bathing platform, spacious accommodation and substantial water capacity makes the Cruiser 46 particularly suited to Greek island cruising. Bavaria specifies approximately 350 litres of water capacity and 210 litres of fuel capacity.
