Contact Sail Ionian for further information, specifications, ownership options or to discuss purchasing this yacht in Greece.
Your new Bavaria C42 is delivered by road from the Bavaria Yachts factory to Slovenia, where it undergoes full commissioning before launch. This includes preparation of the yacht, stepping and rigging the mast, installation and checking of equipment, and completion of the necessary pre-launch work.
Once commissioned and launched, the yacht is sailed from Slovenia to our base in Lefkas, Greece. Our commissioning and delivery allowance includes provision for an experienced skipper to assist with the delivery passage, helping to ensure that the yacht arrives in Lefkas ready for final preparation.
For a yacht to operate commercially for charter in Greece, it must be correctly owned and registered and must comply with the applicable Greek maritime, safety and commercial requirements. This involves considerably more than purchasing and delivering the yacht.
For yachts entering our Greek charter fleet, we arrange for a Greek company to be established in the owner’s name and administer the necessary Greek registration, commercial documentation, radio licensing, safety and seaworthiness certification, together with the registrations and administrative procedures required before the yacht can legally begin charter operation.
The process involves several authorities and supporting documents. Our experienced team manages this administration on the owner’s behalf, helping to ensure that the Bavaria C42 is correctly documented and prepared for commercial charter. Greek commercial yachts are also subject to the applicable registration requirements through the Greek Electronic Register of Ships.
The coding and licences provision also includes establishing the buyer’s Greek company and associated bank accounts in the owner’s name. The process is designed to be straightforward for a new buyer, with the required documentation prepared for signature.
The ownership structure, taxation and registration requirements remain subject to the regulations applicable at the time. The buyer’s individual legal and tax position should be confirmed with an appropriately qualified Greek adviser.
The Bavaria C42 offers considerably more than spacious accommodation. Its modern Cossutti hull, substantial sail area, pronounced chines and single rudder create a yacht that feels responsive and rewarding at the helm. Independent testing has highlighted its direct steering, reassuring stability and ability to maintain strong passage speeds.
The broad stern, generous beam and full V-shaped bow create an extraordinary amount of usable space throughout the yacht. The saloon, cabins and cockpit all feel comparable to those found aboard many larger cruising yachts.
The three-cabin, two-head arrangement provides an excellent balance of accommodation and privacy. The large forward owner’s cabin is complemented by two generous aft doubles, while the second heads compartment makes life aboard considerably more convenient when cruising with family or guests.
Although the C42 offers the accommodation of a substantial cruising yacht, the bow thruster provides additional control when entering harbours, leaving confined berths and completing Mediterranean-style mooring manoeuvres.
The optional solar installation helps maintain the yacht’s batteries during the day and reduces reliance on shore power. This is particularly useful when spending time at anchor or moving between quieter Ionian islands.
Air conditioning makes the interior considerably more comfortable during the hottest summer weather. It is a valuable addition for private holidays aboard and an attractive feature during charter periods.
The wide stern allows Bavaria to provide long cockpit benches, a substantial cockpit table and plenty of space for dining and relaxing outside. The large bathing platform creates easy access to the sea and extends the usable living area while at anchor.
Large windows, coach roof glazing and opening hatches bring excellent natural light into the accommodation. The spacious saloon, practical galley and generous cabins make the C42 particularly comfortable for longer holidays aboard.
The combination of enjoyable sailing, straightforward handling, three double cabins, two heads, air conditioning and solar charging makes this C42 particularly well suited to the Sail Ionian Yacht Partnership. It provides a rewarding yacht for the owner while offering the space, privacy and comfort expected by charter guests.
