NEW YACHT Bavaria 46 Style Te Anau

Introducing Te Anau, our brand new 2019 Bavaria 46 Style!

We have a late entrant to Sail Ionian’s new yachts for 2019! Drum roll please….. big welcome to TE ANAU! Te Anau you say? How does one pronounce Te Anau? What is Te Anau?!

Well Te Anau is our new Bavaria 46 Style, and interestingly is named after the Maori Te Anau which is a town on the shores of Lake Te Anau on New Zealand’s South Island. The Lake is the largest on the south island and the second largest in the whole of New Zealand.

Te Anau is pronounced Tay-ah-now – though please do correct me if I’ve got that wrong as my knowledge of Maori is limited to none.

Here is a snap of Te Anau (the place obviously, not the boat…)

It looks beautiful doesn’t it? The boat Te Anau will be equally as beautiful, as are the whole range of ‘Style’ yachts. This one will not disappoint with 3 ensuite double cabins, in mast furling, electric genoa winches, bow thrusters… She also boasts air conditioning, generator AND solar panels!

Te Anau will be joining us a little later in the season and is available to charter from July onwards. She is going to be absolutely perfect for a luxurious bareboat charter or equally a relaxing skippered charter if you like the idea of one of our professional skippers taking you on a whirlwind tour of the Ionian! If you are interested in booking Te Anau then start thinking about dates and contact me in the office as she has already got a couple of bookings confirmed and is sure to be very popular. You can view live availability online here.

So Te Anau is being built in the Bavaria factory in Germany. From there she will travel across land to Izola in Slovenia. This is where our engineers will meet the boat to commission her and get her ready for the remainder of her delivery trip. She will then come down by sea to her new home with Sail Ionian in Vliho 🙂

You can see the layout and full spec list on the website here. Note that as Te Anau is merely a twinkle in her father’s eye at the moment, we only have stock pictures to show. As soon as she arrives in Izola we will hop and board and update her page with some photos!

With Hummingbird, Wyvern and now Te Anau, the grand total of Sail Ionian charter yachts comes to 40! You can view the full range of yachts here and see our selection of holiday options here.
