NEW YACHT Bavaria C45 Scugnizzo

Find out about our new Bavaria C45 Scugnizzo

With the popularity of Bavaria’s C series of yachts, and already having C45 Hummingbird and C57 Wyvern in the fleet, we have added a brand new Bavaria C45 to the fleet for 2020 – Scugnizzo!

Definition: street urchin; clever, cunning little boy who likes to have fun with this friends, spending time on the streets playing cruel practical jokes on others

Scugnizzo, pronounced skoo-neet-zo is an Italian word, originating from South Italy and more precisely from Naples and the surrounding area. It is the word used to describe naughty or cheeky little boys…!

Like Whispering Angel and Frank, Scugnizzo will be brand new for 2020 so is currently in the factory in Bavaria, Germany. She will head to Izola in Slovenia by road early Spring with the other 2 yachts where our team of engineers will meet the new arrivals to start the commissioning. I explained on another post about commissioning but it’s basically finishing off the partially completed yacht by stepping the mast, rigging and sails, electrics etc. The skippers will also join the process to do an inventory for the skippering side of things – cockpit lockers, anchor chain markers, chart tables etc.

Following launching and a sea trial, the engineers leave the skippers and delivery crews to begin the trip by sea from Izola to Vliho. This usually takes around a week but depends on the weather. The route also depends on the conditions, sometimes the deliveries stick to the Croatian coastline if sheltering from the wind, but most of the time we hop over the Italy to refuel and then from Italy to Corfu for registering the yacht in Greece and the final leg down to Vliho on Lefkas. It’s not a trip for the faint hearted, conditions can be tough this early on in the year!

Scugnizzo has an impressive spec list – she has 3 luxurious double cabins and 2 large heads. The ensuite heads to the double cabin is a separate shower and toilet and the main heads in the saloon is extremely roomy with a screened shower stall. To accommodate extra crew, this yacht has the handy saloon table conversion into another double bed. A top feature of Scugnizzo is the generator and air conditioning! On deck, she has a spacious cockpit with twin helms, in mast furling main, self tacking genoa – does it get easier than this? … large drop down bathing platform with dinghy/toys garage and a wetbar & BBQ area in the cockpit – perfect for dining in the evenings on board in a bay! Of course she has teak decks and the large bimini over the cockpit too. She is going to be a DREAM.

Take a look at the layout and full specification here.

Scugnizzo is available for bareboat or skippered charters and will be ready for charter from end of May 2020 onwards. Remember that any of the yachts on the fleet can also participate in our informal flotilla, read more about the flotilla here.

As with the other yachts, the online pictures are stock only at the moment as we are awaiting the actual boat to arrive, but when she does, we’ll be sure to update the website with her photos!

View live availability and pricing here. With her high spec, she is certainly going to be popular in 2020 – don’t miss out on sailing the newest yachts in the Ionian!
