NEW YACHT – Bavaria C57 Wyvern

All about the new Bavaria C57 Wyvern joining our fleet for 2019…

Wyvern (noun):

(1) a winged two-legged dragon with a barbed tail

(2) a largely sea-dwelling legendary creature with a dragon’s head, a reptilian body, two legs and a tail ending in a diamond shaped tip.

One thing that Wyvern the creature and Wyvern the Bavaria C57 have in common is that they are, as defined above, LEGENDARY… and sea dwelling! There are some big differences though… as you may notice in the clever comparison I’ve put together here: 😉

  vs.  Bavaria C57 Sail Ionian

So all the goss on Wyvern... She is currently in the UK getting her papers ready before her voyage to her new home with us in Vliho. Due to time and weather constraints, Wyvern will be shipped over from the UK sometime soon (sorry to be vague!) to Lavrion which is a port in Athens. We will then sail her into the Ionian and prepare her for the 2019 season.

Wyvern has an impressive capacity for 11 guests plus 1 crew. She has 3 double cabins and 1 bunk cabin, and the huge forward cabin can be rather cleverly split in two, making FOUR double cabins, the bunk cabin and room in the saloon too if need be. The skipper has their own skipper’s berth in the bow.

With air conditioning, cabin fans, solar panels, bow and stern thrusters, dishwasher, 40″ flat screen TV, sunbed cushions for lounging on deck (with headrest & cup holders!!) and a BBQ on the stern… you could say she is luxurious, and then some!

You can see the layout of Wyvern and full spec list here.

Will we be chartering this yacht bareboat? In short, I’m afraid it’s a no! She will be available for Skippered Charters so will come with one of our designated professional skippers who will be responsible for keeping her in perfect condition ready for those of you who are considering treating yourselves to a charter on this beautiful yacht.

To summarise, we are very excited for Wyvern’s arrival to the Sail Ionian fleet and will keep you updated with the estimated arrival date. Providing all paperwork goes well, she should be ready for charter mid-April!
