And that’s a wrap!

The final charters have returned to base for this year

Our 2 last charters of the season have returned to Vliho for the last time this year, which signifies the end of the 2021 season!

Our Bavaria C50 Frank, out on a Skippered Charter with Fiona, and Bavaria 37 Whispering Angel on an RYA Day Skipper Course with Andy are safely moored on the quay having enjoyed the fantastic recent November weather and tranquility of the Ionian at this time of the year.

We extended the season this year to accommodate the huge influx of RYA enquiries that we had coming in. As Preveza Airport closes for the winter at the end of October each year, our students happily travelled smoothly via Athens airport – a scenic 4.5 hour journey by road.

The weather has been superb. Glorious sunny days, good winds, admittedly cool evenings but we are now halfway through November after all!

And to top it all off, all 4 students successfully passed their Day Skipper course – a great way to end the season. Congratulations!

The season on the whole has been busy! We didn’t have quite such a late start like we had last year. It was the end of May when we got started, and the middle of June when it started to get busy but either way, a huge improvement on the end of July in 2020 but we certainly hope to stick with our current re-opening plan for next year, which is Sunday 10th April 2022. We are offering 30% off charters from 10th April until 8th May if you fancy an early season sail in the Ionian or if you want to experience Greek Easter – one of the biggest celebrations here, which falls on Sunday 24th April 2022. View our availability here and take 30% off for those early season dates.

We’ve got RYA courses running most weeks of the season. For sure they are going to get booked up quick if this year is anything to go by, so don’t leave it too late – we can only run so many courses each week! Group courses and private courses available – enquire to find out which suits you best…

There are more flights than EVER BEFORE planned for 2022. Tourism here in Greece is going to kick off hugely next year so it’s good to see the airlines finally realizing that Preveza is a good little airport to invest in. Direct flights available as early as 27th March from London Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted and Manchester, as well as flights throughout the season from Bristol, Birmingham, Luton & Edinburgh! This really is fantastic news for the Ionian Islands.

So now as we haul the final boats out of the water for the winter and begin our maintenance program, it’s time to extend a massive THANK YOU to all our guests that came out this year, it was a pleasure meeting you all. And of course a big thank you to those of you who have already booked for next year! We can’t wait to see you 🙂

We are already looking forward to fun-filled summer days like these again…

Thanks to Protography for the awesome photo.

Until next year.. Izzy 🙂
