NEW YACHT – Bavaria 37 Whispering Angel

We welcome Whispering Angel to the fleet, a new Bavaria 37

The Bavaria 37s have always been popular with our guests here at Sail Ionian. 2 or 3 cabin options provide plenty of space for 2, 4 or 6 – they are absolutely ideal for families or anyone that wants to enjoy a large cockpit with twin helms and the luxury of the big drop down bathing platform on a relatively small, easy-to-handle yacht. Having increased the fleet last year by 3 pretty big boats – Wyvern, Te Anau & Hummingbird – and having had a few of our yachts leave the fleet at the end of the 2019 season, it is time to add a new Bavaria 37 to our fleet! And one with a beautiful name – Whispering Angel πŸ™‚

Named in fact after Di’s favourite bottle of RosΓ©, Whispering Angel (the wine) has evocative flavours of grapefruit and citrus combined with refreshing acidity – i.e. it tastes like SUMMER! It’s a great name for this yacht that’s for sure.

So Whispering Angel will join our fleet in the Spring. She will be brand new for 2020 and in January she will be completed in the Bavaria factory in Germany. In late February/early March she will be transported by road to Izola, along with Frank and Scugnizzo, where our team of engineers from base in Vliho will meet the new boats for commissioning. Commissioning is the process of basically finishing a partially completed build. This involves stepping the mast, sails and rigging, guardrails, electrics, installation of all the cockpit locker contents and much more beyond my realm of understanding… πŸ˜‰ I’m told it can be a stressful time with tight deadlines to stick to in order for some of the new owners to meet their yachts and for the skippers to begin the delivery trips, but from what I hear, the guys eat a lot of pizza and try all the local beers… I’m kidding, they do a great job of course!

Whispering Angel will be able to sleep a maximum of 8 in 3 double cabins and the saloon. She also has 1 heads, fully-battened slab reefing mainsail, twin helms, teak decks, large bimini for plenty of shade from the sun, sprayhood, the latest B&G electronics and of course full safety equipment.

You can see the layout of Whispering Angel and full spec list here.

Whispering Angel will be able to for bareboat charter if you hold the relevant qualifications, and also for RYA training. She will be RYA coded and inspected so that she’s all set for group and private Competent Crew & Day Skipper courses.

Pictures will be updated when she arrives with us in the Spring, I’ll be sure to keep you updated of any progress!

View pricing and availability here. She’s already got several bookings for 2020 so if you like the idea of sailing a brand new yacht, then don’t leave it too late to book.
